Attorney August Miller, like attorney Andy Cook, is a graduate of California Western School of Law (CWSL) in San Diego. She received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship, as well as other academic honors during her time at CWSL.  Prior to that, attorney Miller received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Middle Eastern Studies from Hope College in Holland, Michigan, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Attorney Miller volunteered for the San Diego YWCA Domestic Violence Legal Clinic during her first year of law school, and realized that Family Law was where she wanted to focus her legal career. Attorney Miller then went on to clerk for the Honorable Michael B. Hyman, judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County in Chicago, where she focused on Family Law trials.  She also clerked for various Family Law firms in San Diego. As an attorney, she has represented Family Law clients in Vista, El Cajon, Chula Vista, and downtown San Diego. In addition to Family Law, August has also represented over 30 clients in their misdemeanor and felony DUI and DMV cases in San Diego County.

Attorney Miller was born and raised in and around Detroit. While she misses her family and friends, she is excited to call San Diego her home. She enjoys the local farmer’s markets, restaurants, cafes, and beaches. In her free time, she also loves to travel abroad. She has traveled to Ecuador, Thailand, Morocco, and India, and plans to discover more. Some of the most important lessons in her life have been taught abroad. She brings this cultural sensitivity to the practice of law as well.

Attorney Miller is a member of the State Bar of California, the Family Law section of the State Bar, the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA), and the Family Law section of the SDCBA.
